General Fiction & Non-Fiction
The library’s fiction collection has outgrown its original area. Genre
fiction, mysteries, science fiction & fantasy and westerns are grouped
together for easy selection. Our non-fiction collection supports a wide
range of topics, viewpoints and reading levels. Don’t forget to check our
New Book shelves for recent additions to the library. Requests for purchase
are welcome and reserves are available.
Reference
The library provides answers to general reference questions by phone and in
the library. Our reference collection is supplemented by electronic
resources and a regional reference service. If you are interested in
researching local history or your family history, visit our Local History &
Genealogy page. Staff will also assist in locating materials in our
collection by teaching patrons how to use our automated card catalog.

The Faithful Reader Book Discussion Group
This group meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
Those wanting to take part in the group should register at the adult
circulation desk to reserve a copy of that month's selection. The
group led by Jean, Adult Book Program Coordinator, focuses their
talks on Christian fiction titles. This free program meets in the
Library's meeting room. The group will take a break in the month of
December.
Between the Lines
This book discussion group meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at
noon. Volunteers from community and Library staff lead the
discussions. Fiction as well as non-fiction titles are reviewed.
Registrations are taken at the adult circulation desk where copies of the
book may be reserved. This free program meets in the Library's meeting
room. The group takes vacation breaks July-August and November-December.
Special programs such as a Civil War Lecture, One Woman Show (a
portrayal of Dorothy Fuldheim), crafts and growing daylilies are just a few
examples of past programs offered to our adult patrons.
Registration is sometimes required for these programs.
Adult Summer Reading Club for adults was
introduced in the summer of 1998. The summer reading program starts in June. Registration is required for this program. Watch for
registration packets at the circulation desk. Typically, the participant
fills out a form for each book or book-on-tape read. The form is entered in
a weekly drawing for prizes. The more a participant reads the higher his/her
chance of winning. The participant may also fill out a short review of the
book. The review is posted on the summer reading bulletin board to be shared
with all our patrons. We've had a great response to this program and hope
you will join us next summer.
