Local Author Series

Mon. October 20th

Get into the haunting season with our featured local author, David Brookover. His works have received critical acclaim from fans of both supernatural and detective stories.

The Burial Ground is David’s ninth horror novel. He has always been intrigued by the supernatural and has a boundless imagination that weaves mystery, horror, suspense, and thrills into fast paced stories. The Midwest Book Review has compared his short chapters and rapid pacing to that of author James Patterson.

A little bit about David....

He was born in Toledo, Ohio on June, Friday the 13th, which no doubt explains why he writes horror novels! Since he was young, he always had the itch to write. During the summer after his 6th grade year, he won The Toledo Blade’s adult writing contest. His high school freshman aptitude test predicted he would be a novelist, and his mother cried for two weeks afterwards, fearing he would just be another starving artist. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a double major in English.

David is married to Mary Bellamy Brookover, who graduated from Norwalk St. Paul High School. She was a member of the SPHS marching band, and she was honored to be selected as member of the All-Ohio Band. For the past twenty years, they lived outside Orlando, Florida before deciding to move to Norwalk so Dave could write full time in a friendly small town. He really loves Norwalk!
