Damaged or Lost Materials
If patrons damage or lose library items, they are responsible for reimbursing the library. Damage includes alterations that detract from other patrons’ use, like mangled contents or torn pages. The cost for repair or replacement is based on the list price as recorded in the library's system. Should a patron provide a fire or police report for damaged or stolen items, fees may be waived.
Notice of Overdue Materials
To allow the greatest access to our collection regardless of the user’s financial situation, the library does not charge late fees. However, if a user has overdue items, borrowing privileges will be suspended until the items are renewed or returned. Once an item is 14 days overdue, a notice is emailed or mailed. After another 7 days, the item is recorded as missing, and the patron will be billed for replacement charges.
Restrictions
Borrowing privileges are blocked when the user has $5.00 or more in fees.
