Donations

The library appreciates contributions from citizens and organizations, including book and non-book materials for its collections, and gifts that enhance the physical environment. Items accepted by the Library become its sole property and are managed at the discretion of the Director or their designee. Unfortunately, the Library cannot provide appraisals for donated items and reserves the right to decline any donation.

When patrons or organizations wish to donate gifts of a more specific nature—such as works of art, furniture, equipment, special collections, or real property—they will be referred to the Director. The Director, in consultation with the Board, will decide whether to accept such gifts and how to handle them. If a patron or organization donates funds for specific purposes, the board must approve the amount and nature of the expenditure before accepting the gift. Items purchased with these funds become Library property and may be disposed of as needed.

Monetary Donations

All monetary donations to the Library will be deposited in the General Fund of the Library, unless otherwise specified.
